Project Reflection

Looking at the rubric (both posted on the Resilience Cafe web page under Learning Goals and given to you at the beginning of the project), explain what grade you think you deserve on this project. Do you think you are working towards(C-F), meeting (B), or exceeding (A) the expectations set for you?

In your written reflection on your project performance, make sure you reflect on your completion of at least one of the expectations from each of these three categories on the rubric:

Knowledge Tool Box (i.e. content/skills)

Presentation/Professionalism

Polished Writing/Music/Spoken Word (i.e. beautiful work)

Use evidence from your project and your performance to explain why you feel you are working towards, meeting, or exceeding the expectations for the Resilience Cafe project.

Lastly, write about what you did that makes you most proud during this project and why.

P.S. - I am so amazingly proud of all the you accomplished during this project! YOU ALL TOTALLY ROCK!

Resilience Cafe Invitation

Please, use this form letter we worked on together in class as a starting point for your letter. The more personalized you make your invitation, the better. Here is what we came up with in class (there is a Word doc version of this letter connected to the Februrary calendar day for today):

Dear Resilient Community Member,

During the past few weeks, my partner and I have been working on a project called Resilience Café. The Resilience Café project is a project in which we chose two resilient people (one from history and one from our current community) to find a meaningful connection between their lives. We would like to honor you personally as our current resilient community member. Our class has created a book and a CD to represent the past and present resilience in our community.

We are writing to you because we would like you to attend our Resilience Café Night on February 28th, 2007 at our school, HTMMA from 5:00 – 7:00pm. On the night of Resilience Café, we will be presenting our music/spoken word pieces and our artwork that we have created to honor you and other resilient community members.

Hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

HTMMA Address:

Personal Connection (due Wed.)

How are you personally connected to your piece of artwork? How do you connect with the two resilient individuals you are portraying through art/ spoken word? Why is your piece of artwork (3d art or spoken word/music) significant and meaningful to you, and why should others take the time to experience your artwork? In your post connecting your personal experiences to your artwork, ask your audience some questions to help them experience your artwork (3d art or music/spoken word) more completely or in a more meaningful way?

Response to Critique OR Posting Lyrics (due Fri.)

3D ARTIST:
Who is an artist that has inspired your artistic creation? Post an example of his/her artwork on your blog. (This can be a separate post from your feedback reflection, if you'd like.)
Reflect on the feedback you received from our 3D Artwork Blueprint Gallery Walk. What feedback did you get that was constructive? After receiving written feedback from your classmates and verbal suggestions, how has your plan changed or evolved? Do you feel confident about your blueprint or would like more feedback? If you would like more feedback, take a digital photo of your blueprint, post it on your blog, and post questions for your classmates to answer in the comments section of your blog.

MUSIC/SPOKEN WORK ARTIST:
Post the first draft of your music/spoken word lyrics. After your lyrics, explain the metaphorical references you have made and how your writing embodies the theme of resilience. Lastly, post at least three questions you would like addressed by your classmates as they critique and help you revise your lyrics.
For example:
What emotions do you feel when you read these lyrics and what in my piece of writing brings about this emotional response?
Does this song/spoken work piece seem to embody the theme of resilience? Why or why not?
What is your opinion of the two resilient characters I presented in my song? Do you like the them, admire them, feel inspired by them, or do you not feel like I provided enough information?

Constructive Comment on at Least 2 of Your Peers' Blogs (due Thurs.)

Check out the amazing blogs of your peers! There is amazing work started on these blogs, but before each partnership begins creating beautiful work, let's help each other come up with even stronger blueprints, quotes, and initial research. Ask your classmates questions to help them dive deeper into the content and chracters of their resilient individuals. Write constructive comments about their initial posts and their project ideas. Be CONSTRUCTIVE, not destructive. Remember, every house needs insullation/fluff (positive comments) to be strong and comfortable inside, but no house can be built on fluff alone. Be specific and helpful in your feedback to help your classmates build a strong foundation for their project with strong walls and supports throughout.
